Maruti Suzuki has initiated a significant recall campaign, affecting 69,555 vehicles due to a potential defect in the wiring harness, marking one of the largest recalls in the company’s history in India.
The recall targets 55,938 units of the previous-generation Swift Dzire, 12,486 units of the older Swift, and 1,131 units of the Ritz, all produced between March 8, 2010, and August 11, 2013. Maruti Suzuki has clarified that only vehicles within this specific production window are impacted, and the recall does not extend to other models or vehicles exported by the company.
Authorized Maruti Suzuki dealerships will reach out to owners of the affected vehicles. Technicians at dealer workshops will inspect the wiring harness installation and perform any required repairs at no cost to the customer. The issue was identified through routine internal quality checks and customer feedback. Owners can verify if their vehicle is part of this recall by visiting the official Maruti Suzuki website.
This marks the second recall for India’s leading automaker this year. Earlier in April, Maruti Suzuki recalled approximately 100,000 units of the Ertiga, Swift, and Dzire to address a defective fuel filler neck component.
