Founded in the 1940s, Mahindra initially gained prominence by producing Willys Jeeps in India. Over the decades, the company has evolved into a global powerhouse, particularly in commercial and utility vehicles. Notably, Mahindra holds the title of the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume.

Today, Mahindra is a major player in India’s passenger utility vehicle segment, offering a wide range of SUVs, MUVs, and CUVs. Beyond traditional vehicles, Mahindra is also making strides in motorsports, actively competing in the Formula-E electric racing series. Simultaneously, another division is working on developing an electric hypercar.

Mahindra’s Expanding Global Footprint

Mahindra’s extensive reach is supported by a network of over 530 dealerships across India, ensuring seamless sales and service experiences. The brand has also established a presence in international markets, often collaborating with other automakers.

In India, Mahindra previously partnered with Renault to introduce the Logan sedan and acquired REVA, the brand behind the small electric e2o. The company later took over SsangYong, further strengthening its lineup of premium SUVs, including the Alturas. Additionally, Mahindra became the first mass-market car manufacturer in India to introduce a leasing program for its high-end models.
