Upcoming McLaren Cars in India
McLaren currently offers two car models in India, both of which are Coupes. The entry-level McLaren GT is priced at ₹4.50 Cr, while the 750S stands as the most premium offering at ₹5.91 Cr. The latest addition to the lineup, the 750S, is available within the same price range of ₹5.91 Cr.
The legacy of McLaren traces back to 1963 when New Zealand-born Bruce McLaren established Bruce McLaren Motor Racing. As a factory driver for the British Formula One team Cooper, Bruce secured three Grand Prix victories and finished as the runner-up in the 1960 World Championship. Eager to compete in the Australasian Tasman Series, he sought support from his team. However, when team owner Charles Cooper insisted on using 1.5-litre Formula One engines instead of the permitted 2.5-litre Tasman motors, Bruce took matters into his own hands. He founded his own racing team, partnering with Timmy Mayer, and developed custom-built Cooper cars to take on the competition.
