Upcoming Jeep Cars in India
The legendary American SUV brand made its official entry into the Indian market in 2016 under the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Group, introducing models like the Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee SRT. Since these were imported as CBUs (completely built units), their high price tags limited accessibility for many buyers. To address this, Jeep launched the Made-in-India Compass in 2017, offering a more affordable way for Indian customers to experience the brand.
Manufactured at FCA India’s Ranjangaon facility, the Compass is also exported to multiple right-hand-drive markets worldwide. The model quickly gained popularity, competing against SUVs like the Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson. In 2019, Jeep further expanded the Compass lineup with the Trailhawk, an off-road-focused variant equipped with a BS6-compliant diesel engine.
Although the Compass remains a 5-seater, Jeep India is planning to introduce a 7-seater SUV in the near future to challenge segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
As of now, Jeep India operates 90 dealerships across the country, ensuring accessibility and service support for its growing customer base.
